Career overview

Jannes Willemen received the B.Sc. degree in Engineering Science from KU Leuven in 2023. He then obtained the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven in 2025. His master’s thesis was titled “Design and Optimization of an FPGA Accelerator for Hybrid Homomorphic Encryption Operations.” As part of the M.Sc., he studied for one semester at Columbia University in New York City, USA.

Since October 2025, Jannes has been a PhD researcher at imec, while enrolled at KU Leuven, under the supervision of Prof. Marian Verhelst.

Jannes’s research focuses on Logic Fabrics for next-generation Computing Platforms.
