Marco Francesco Carlino was born in Rome, Italy, in 1996. 

He received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium in 2020, magna cum laude.

As of September 2020, Marco Francesco has been working towards the PhD degree in implantable neural interfaces in the ESAT-MICAS department of KU Leuven, under the supervision of prof. Georges Gielen.
